01 — The thesis
Twelve years of school. Zero hours on the things that compound.
Formal education optimises for what can be graded. That constraint quietly selects against the most useful material — because judgment under uncertainty, reading incentives, and managing your own psychology don't fit neatly in an exam.
So those skills get left to chance: to family, to luck, to whoever happened to be in the room. People who pick them up early compound for decades. People who don't spend years paying tuition to reality instead.
Third Foundation exists to teach that material deliberately, in a small group, to people early enough that it changes the trajectory rather than explains it.
02 — Curriculum
Four foundations.
Cohort 01 covers four domains. They're chosen because they interlock — money runs on incentives, incentives run on psychology, and none of it survives contact with reality without first-principles reasoning underneath.
Game theory & incentives
Most situations are games with rules nobody states out loud. Learn to see the payoff matrix — who benefits, what's repeated, where the real leverage sits — before you move.
First-principles thinking
Take a problem apart until only things you can defend remain, then rebuild. The habit that separates people who reason from people who repeat.
Philosophy & psychology
The operator matters more than the tools. How your own mind misfires, how motivation actually behaves, and how to build discipline that holds when it stops being fun.

03 — Fit
Small groups only work if the group is right.
We'd rather be direct about this now than have you find out three weeks in.
This is built for you if
- You're roughly 16 to early-30s and still actively forming how you think
- You skipped the traditional university route, or went and found it didn't cover this
- You'll do the reading, and you'll argue with it rather than nod along
- You can take a correction without taking it personally
- You want people around you who are pulling in the same direction
It isn't for you if
- You want a certificate, a credential, or something to put on a CV
- You're looking for trading signals, stock picks, or a way to get rich this quarter
- You want passive video content you can half-watch at 2×
- You've already decided what's true and want it confirmed
- You can't commit real hours to it — small cohorts fail when people drift
04 — Format
Two ways in.
Pathway A
Cohort
10–20 people moving through the material together, live. Shared reading, open argument, and the accountability that only comes from other people expecting you to show up.
The cohort is the point. Most of what sticks will come from the discussion, not the slides.
Pathway B
One-to-one
Direct mentorship, built around your situation rather than a fixed syllabus. Suited to people with a specific decision in front of them or a gap they already know the shape of.
Deliberately limited — there are only so many hours, so this stays a handful of people.
05 — Where we are
Early, and saying so.
Cohort 01 hasn't run yet. Plenty of pages in this category invent a launch date and a price to create urgency. Here's the actual state of things instead.

Joining the waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It means you hear the terms first, and get a say in shaping them while they're still soft.
06 — Questions
Straight answers.
Who's teaching this?
Third Foundation is being built by a practitioner rather than an academic — someone who
learned this material by needing it, not by examining it. We'll introduce the team properly
before Cohort 01 opens. Until then, judge it on the curriculum and on a conversation with us,
which is what you should be judging it on anyway.
What does it cost?
Not set. We're not going to invent a number to make this page look finished. The waitlist
hears the price first, and early members will get preferential terms for taking the risk
on an unproven cohort.
Do I need a degree, or any background?
No. The programme assumes no prior study in any of the four domains. It was designed with
people who skipped university in mind, though nothing excludes you if you went.
Is it online or in person?
Online and live, so location isn't a barrier. Time zones will factor into how the first
cohort is grouped.
How much time will it take?
Expect a few hours a week — a live session plus reading you're actually meant to do. The
precise cadence gets fixed with Cohort 01 rather than imposed on it.
I'm outside the 16 to early-30s range. Should I bother?
The range describes who the material is aimed at, not a rule. If the curriculum is what
you've been missing, join the list and say so.
What happens after I join the waitlist?
Nothing automatic and nothing frequent. You'll hear from us when price, dates and format
are settled, and before places are offered. No newsletter, no drip sequence.
